Prairie Grass Fire and Safety is looking for a Fire Extinguisher Technician with experience in fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance to join our growing team.
The position requires expert knowledge of fire protection systems, code requirements, understanding of design and construction issues, and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will work in a team environment, working closely with clients.
Duties
Performs inspection / service work to fire extinguishers in a time sensitive manner.
Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs. Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment.
Requirements
Knowledge of NFPA 10 codes and standards. Have or willing to take training from an accredited training facility.
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements. Overnight travel will occasionally be required.
Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.
Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
Must have all necessary hand tools required for the work being performed.
Must be punctual and self-motivated.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have computer skills in Microsoft Office software
Must be willing to learn new software programs & processes as required
Must be able to maintain an effective level of self-motivation & be goal oriented
