SYNOPSIS:

The First Nations Learning Facilitator is a key role within the National Gallery's Learning Team, working closely with the First Nations Learning Programs Convenor on the delivery of learning programs for students and teachers. The Learning team, including Education and Public Programs, develops and delivers engaging and expansive programs that centre the voices and perspectives of artists to increase access and understanding of the National Collection and special exhibitions for diverse audiences. The First Nations Learning Facilitator is an identified role, designed for people with a strong interest in art, culture, people and ideas, who have skills and experience in facilitating learning experiences for a wide range of audiences, including students and teachers, access audiences, children and families, young people and adults.

This is a part-time, 2-year non-ongoing position with a possibility of becoming ongoing, applications close 11:50pm, Sunday 12 April 2026.

The position will be filled using the Affirmative Measure provision, which allows for the targeted recruitment of Indigenous Australians into the Australian Public Service. This vacancy is only open to First Nations people.
