Job Description

This is an identified role and applicants must identify as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. SBS considers that being Aboriginal and/or a Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under s 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1+77 (NSW).

This role is classified as Level 4 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with a base salary range of $+6,483 - $106,688). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate First Nations storyteller to join our Entertainment & Events team and help shape the future of Indigenous television and bring powerful stories to life on screen.

This is more than just a production role – it's an opportunity to strengthen and celebrate the world's oldest living culture through compelling storytelling.

In this role, you'll lead the development and production of original content that matters, working with Indigenous creators and communities to share authentic stories across Australia.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings:

A strong track record in television production with at least 3 years of experience
Deep understanding of Indigenous cultures and storytelling traditions
Proven ability to develop and pitch original program concepts
Experience in managing productions from concept to delivery
Skills in budget management and project coordination
A collaborative spirit and passion for Indigenous media
