At Queen's Rooftop and Wineshop, we are on a mission to become New Zealand's leading hospitality venue, perched on the rooftop (21 stories up) of the newly opened Deloitte Center/Intercontinental Hotel at One Queen Street, in Auckland CBD.

Our breathtaking view, unmatched in Auckland, sets the stage for an unforgettable customer experience. We are an all-day trader, lunch, dinner, and late-night, with approximately 200 seats and a capacity of 250. We are currently recrutiting for Waiters/Floor staff

Qualities and attributes we're looking for:

A fantastic work ethic, attitude and a willingness to be a real team

player

Zero ego

A great deal of initiative, drive and attention to detail

The ability to work in a fast paced and high-pressure environment

A strong willingness to learn and have an ambition/desire to rise

through the ranks

A great sense of integrity, with an honest and reliable approach to work

The ability to follow instructions/direction in order to ensure the

smooth completion of tasks

A strong sense of compliancy with regards to learning and hence

working within the systems and procedures that are implemented/put in place

An understanding that you will be required to work late nights and also

weekends

Waiter/Runner Key Responsibilities:

Providing fast, attentive and efficient service in a warm and hospitable manner!

Set tables in accordance with the layout expected by the Restaurant

Manager

Assisting with any special needs of the customer (i.e. children, elderly

patrons, or patrons with disabilities etc)

Assisting diners with food and beverage selection by briefly

summarising the menu, explaining daily specials, answering food and

beverage related questions and furthermore making appropriate

suggestions

Taking customers’ orders in a friendly and efficient manner

Inputting customers’ orders into the POS correctly and efficiently, whilst

ensuring that any special customer requirements/preferences are

clearly stated and laid out on the docket (e.g. allergies, dietaries etc)

Serving food and beverages in accordance with the selling system/sequence of service, but above all in a professional,

courteous and timely manner

Ensuring all food and beverage is delivered to the correct tables as quickly as possible once presented on the pass

Food-checking the customer to ensure that everything is great with

their meal and that there are no issues/that they don’t require anything

else

Ensuring that after ALL of the diners on the table have finished eating,

that all of the dishes are cleared quickly and efficiently and that the

table is left in an immaculate state

Ensuring that customers are correctly charged by checking over their

bill at the conclusion of their meal/drinks

Presenting the bill to customers and taking payment from customers if

applicable

Ensuring that your section is kept in a clean and tidy state AT ALL

TIMES

Ensure that you are compliant with the Sale and Supply of ******* Act

2012 in addition to our own Liquor License (especially with

regards to checking ID’s and managing intoxication)

Immediately inform the Senior Waiter/Restaurant Manager/Duty Manager of any customer complaints with regards to food or beverage, so that they can be instantly resolved/rectified

Follow instructions from /Restaurant Manager/Duty

Manager

Be aware of and continually maintain the highest standards of both

personal hygiene and dress

Make decisions that show great deals of initiative, use your common

sense!

What experience is required?

At least 1 year of FOH experience

Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, late nights and public holidays - this is a must!

You are based in Auckland, New Zealand and have a valid working visa (unfortunately we won't be able to accommodate any sponsorships at this stage)
