Job Description
• This is a newly created role for 2026 for a Director within the Risk and Conduct, Financial Crime and Compliance (CFCC) COO team as a Director, Ops Effectiveness, Data Management, Risk and CFCC will work with the Data and Privacy Transformation Programme, within Risk/CFCC will deliver uplifted data and privacy controls in existing & new processes to improve customer experience and meet regulatory requirements. This role will involve working with the various DPTP Squads and Risk/CFCC Process Owners to implement & operationalise capabilities for robust, streamlined and customer centric Data & Privacy management.
• The Director, Ops Effectiveness, Data Management, Risk and CFCC is mandated with the responsibility of reviewing issues escalated to ascertain process and operational effectiveness of the data management framework. The GPO Delegate is also responsible for the identification of potential areas of improvement of processes; reviewing trackers, MI KCIs/CSTs and ensuring that controls are operating effectively.
• The holder is expected to support operationalising the Data Framework, all associated standards, and actively identifying and managing risk in this PRT. This includes the DPTP remediation, this role will lead the strategy to define and embed the processes and operating model across the Risk & CFCC Process Universe to develop effective solutions and maximise operational effectiveness in accordance with the risk buy down commitments. This role is expected to champion nWOW ("new Ways of Working") through effective agile advocacy, leadership and delivery within Risk & CFCC.
Strategy
• Keep abreast of industry and internal insights to optimise the Group's effectiveness and efficiency to discharge its obligations with regard to data management.
Business
• Ensure that relevant Risk & CFCC Process Owners champion the DPTP initiative and adopt and embed remediation deliverables.
• Act as a key contact point for relevant governance / risk and control aspects for data management.
• Work closely and collaboratively with process owners to support implementation and adoption. Document and present the control framework and supporting governance and oversight routines
• Conduct impact analysis and clearly document and raise assumptions/risks.
Processes
• Identification and management of the end-to-end process as defined in the Group's Process Universe and associated risks including activities which are carried out by other businesses or functions, or which are hubbed or outsourced.
• Ensure effectiveness of controls, incl. driving attestation from relevant functions that delegated activities are completed effectively (this may be through monitoring of ORF controls aligned with SLAs).
• Being responsible to the Process Universe Owner, Framework or Policy Owners, and implementing the control requirements applicable to the process.
• Implementing the RCSA to monitor the effectiveness of the Data Management controls and standards.
• Accountable for completion of Controlled Sample Testing (CSTs), Key Control Indicators (KCIs), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Risk Information Reports within time and of the required quality.
• Report to the relevant internal committees / stakeholders on the status of the CSTs, KCIs, KRIs, and RIRs including reporting of any gaps and controls lapses identified.

• In addition to the core risk management responsibilities of the role set out above, the role holder must act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated to management and through the relevant committees.
• Escalating serious regulatory breaches or where risk appetite has been breached to senior management for regulatory notification as appropriate.
• Ensuring proactive and timely dissemination of regulatory changes/practices and associated risks, and proactive engagement in regulatory reform.
• Ensure the ongoing management and oversight of any audit issues relating to Data Management for Risk and CFCC.

Our Ideal Candidate
• Wide experience within Banking or Financial Services, ideally Compliance or Operational Risk
• Knowledge of Data Management (Privacy & Secrecy, Records Management, Data Quality, Data Sovereignty) Control Frameworks
• Good technical knowledge of risk management including: operational risk, risk and control frameworks and risk reduction processes.
• Understanding of agile ways of working and delivering transformation
• Proven ability to plan and organize own workload to deliver in a challenging environment with many dependencies and multiple demanding stakeholders.
