Position Summary
The Fleet Crew Member / Food Truck Driver plays a critical role in ensuring our trucks operate smoothly, safely, and successfully. This position blends driving, setup, customer service, and operational duties to bring the Happy Ice experience to life at events, festivals, and pop-ups.
Key ResponsibilitiesDriving & Truck Operations
Safely operate and maneuver Happy Ice food trucks to and from events, store locations, and commissaries.
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs immediately.
Ensure trucks are fueled, stocked, and in compliance with all health, safety, and DOT regulations.
Event & Service Execution
Set up trucks for service, including stocking napkins, cups, product, utensils, and supplies at proper levels.
Prepare and serve Happy Ice products to company standards for taste, presentation, and portioning.
Maintain a clean and organized truck during service, adhering to health department requirements.
Customer Service
Deliver “Aggressively Friendly” service—always initiating guest interactions with energy and professionalism.
Apply H.E.A.T. (Hear, Empathize, Apologize, Take Action) principles to resolve customer concerns quickly.
Stocking & Inventory
Follow stocking checklists to ensure proper product levels before, during, and after service.
Accurately track product usage, waste, and supplies.
Teamwork & Culture
Support other team members during peak times with food prep, service, or cleanup.
Model the Happy Ice brand values—respect, positivity, and teamwork.
Requirements
Valid CA driver’s license with clean driving record.
Ability to drive large vehicles (training provided if necessary).
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and special events.
Prior food service, event, or customer-facing experience preferred but not required.
