Poo Carters – Septic Pump Outs & Liquid Waste Services
Location: Majura, ACT
Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 per year + Superannuation
Full-time – 38 hours per week
Poo Carters is an established provider of septic pump-out and liquid waste management services across ACT and regional New South Wales. Due to continued operational growth, we are seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee and coordinate the operation of our specialised fleet of liquid waste transport vehicles, ensuring efficient, compliant and safe service delivery to residential, commercial and rural clients.
This role is responsible for managing fleet logistics, maintenance programs and vehicle scheduling to support daily septic pump-out and wastewater transport operations.
Key Responsibilities
Organising the purchase, registration and maintenance of company transport vehicles, specialised equipment and fuel supplies.
Managing the operation of a fleet of specialised waste transport vehicles including vacuum tanker trucks and service vehicles used for septic pump-out services.
Receiving service orders and bookings and planning and implementing vehicle dispatch and transportation schedules to meet operational requirements.
Liaising with clients to determine service requirements and providing information regarding service scheduling and operational arrangements, and assisting with the resolution of service issues.
Coordinating the collection, dispatch and return of vehicles and operational equipment across service locations.
Developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to maximise vehicle reliability and reduce operational downtime.
Monitoring fleet utilisation, fuel consumption and maintenance costs to improve operational efficiency.
Maintaining fleet management records, maintenance schedules and operational logs, and preparing fleet performance and utilisation reports for management.
Ensuring vehicles, equipment and transported materials are handled and transported in conditions that maintain environmental and operational safety standards.
Ensuring fleet operations comply with occupational health and safety requirements, road transport legislation, heavy vehicle regulations and environmental compliance obligations.
Supervising and coordinating drivers and fleet-related operational activities, including vehicle dispatch, loading, unloading and return to depot.
Skills and Experience
AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (or overseas equivalent) in logistics, transport management, business, or a related field.
At least 1 year of relevant work experience in fleet management, transport operations, logistics coordination or similar role.
Experience managing vehicle fleets, maintenance programs and operational transport scheduling.
Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain accurate operational records and prepare performance reports.
