Job Overview
The Fleet Services Master Technician position at Douglas County, NV, is a challenging role that requires expertise in vehicle maintenance and repair. As a key member of the Public Works team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of our fleet vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
• Schedule and prioritize maintenance and repair tasks to ensure minimal downtime for our fleet.
• Diagnose and repair complex issues with gasoline- and diesel-powered automobiles, trucks, and construction equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as tune-ups, overhauling engines, transmissions, differentials, clutches, brakes, drive trains, generators, computer-controlled fuel injection, and emission-related equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections conducted.
Requirements and Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent, plus formal coursework in vehicle maintenance.
• A minimum of five years of journey-level experience in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and/or heavy construction equipment.
• Four (4) ASE certifications in automotive, light, or heavy truck repair.
• Strong knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
