Classification: Grade 5 (starting from $78,077 + Superannuation)
Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for keeping machinery running at its best? The City of Playford is looking for a skilled Fleet Mechanic to maintain and service our diverse range of plant and equipment.
What You’ll Do
Carry out general servicing and repairs on Council plant and vehicles
Diagnose and fix faults using electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
Interpret manuals and software to source spare parts and liaise with our Quality Coordinator
Ensure all work meets Council standards, Australian Design Rules (ADR), and Road Transport Authority regulations
Respond to out-of-hours breakdowns and vehicle retrievals when needed.
What We’re Looking For
Trade qualifications in Heavy or Light Vehicle Mechanics
Current HR Driver’s Licence
Experience across a wide range of fleet repairs: industrial, earthmoving, heavy vehicles, agricultural, light trucks, passenger vehicles, and small plant
Strong skills in fabrication and welding
Knowledge of WHS in high-risk environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Computer literacy and manual handling competency.
Desirable: Auto electrical knowledge, hydraulics experience, and relevant plant operation licences.
