Brief Overview:

We're seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to perform skilled maintenance and repairs on public works vehicles and equipment.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work under general supervision to maintain and repair gasoline and diesel engines, perform preventive maintenance, and operate vehicles for snow removal and sanding during winter. The ideal candidate will have significant autonomy in decision-making regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities:

• Perform skilled repairs and maintenance on vehicles and equipment

• Operate and document preventive maintenance programs

• Repair power equipment and tools

• Order and manage parts inventory

• Maintain repair records and assist in developing vehicle specifications

• Operate vehicles for snow removal and sanding during winter

• Ensure safe practices in vehicle servicing and maintain a daily log of activities

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanic

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience with diesel and gasoline engines

• Ability to work independently and make decisions regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs

• Valid driver's license

• Ability to operate vehicles for snow removal and sanding during winter
