Full job description

Sewer Maintenance and Rehabilitation Company looking for experienced Flush and Vac Truck driver/operator. Thuro’s fleet of Flusher and Vacuum Trucks range from low profile units for underground parkades to large tandem trucks for lift stations, septic systems and various pits and sumps. Tank volumes range from 700 gallons to 3000 gallons.

$28-$30 to start depending on previous experience

Duties

Experienced driving, operating, and completing light servicing of Flush and Vac Trucks

Light servicing & maintenance includes cleaning vehicle, checking oil, fluid levels, tires, lights, lubricating and safety operations

Flushing/Vacuuming Sanitary Sewers, Storm Sewers, Inspection Chambers, Sumps, Parkades

Completion of job specific paperwork and safety paperwork

Assisting other operators in performing their duties

Responding to emergency call outs

Driving equipment, vehicles, or hauling trailers

Related duties as required

Skills & Qualifications

Physically demanding position, able to work long days and withstand working outdoors in all weather conditions

Ability to lift at least 75 lbs

Reads and understands drawings and maps

Operation of Flush and/or Vacuum Truck including knowledge of proper selection of nozzles and flushing procedures

Ensure safe working conditions are maintained

Ability to communicate with members of the public, staff, other operators

Organization, Job task planning, working under pressure, tight deadlines

Working under pressure/tight deadlines independently with minimal supervision

Attention to detail, Mechanical Aptitude, Critical thinking and Problem Solving abilities highly valued

Requirements

2+ years’ experience operating Flush and/or Vac Trucks

Valid Alberta Driver’s License (Minimum Class 3 or D) with Airbrake (Z)

Steel toed boots required

CSTS 2020, First Aid, Confined Space Entry

Passing pre-employment drug testing & criminal record check

Must have reliable transportation

Must be willing to work long hours/overtime, evenings, and occasional weekends

Some out-of-town work may be required, meals & accommodation will be paid

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
