About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Food & Beverage Manager to open the first Caption by Hyatt in Australia. You will be responsible for overseeing the successful opening of the hotel and, once open, for leading the Food & Beverage operation to deliver bold, flavour-forward experiences that meet guest expectations, drive revenue, and maximise financial performance—powered by an engaged and collaborative team.

Some Key Responsibilities

Drive the guest Food & Beverage experience across Talk Shop, Grab & Go, and small meetings in line with Caption brand standards.
Take ownership of guest feedback and service recovery, ensuring timely and thoughtful resolution.
Actively lead, coach, and mentor all team members to build capability, engagement, and future readiness.
Demonstrate Hyatt’s purpose of caring for people so they can be their best, while guiding the team to embody Caption’s inclusive and community-driven values.
Ensure manning levels are aligned to occupancy, effectively managing payroll and rostering.
Proactively collaborate with Sales & Marketing to drive revenue and promote activations.
Plan, forecast, and monitor budgets, ensuring expenses are optimised and aligned with financial goals.
Support sustainability goals through sourcing, waste reduction, and community engagement initiatives.
Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

Previous experience as a Food & Beverage Manager in a hotel setting is essential; pre-opening experience is highly desirable.

Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and empower a diverse team.
Demonstrated creativity in food and beverage, with a strong focus on ethically and sustainably sourced products.
Excellent interpersonal skills to build effective relationships across departments and stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead the operation to meet key goals across guest satisfaction, colleague engagement, and financial outcomes.
Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality operational and administrative results.
