Food Consultant / Recipe Developer (Freelance or Contract)

Espresso Lane Drive Thru Coffee is seeking an experienced Food Consultant or Recipe Developer to work with us on a product-by-product basis to help develop, refine, and document our evolving food menu.
We’re a fast-growing drive-thru coffee brand with a strong focus on speed, quality, and consistency. As we expand, we’re looking to bring in a creative and practical expert who can help us craft delicious, efficient-to-execute food items like breakfast burritos, toasties, wraps, and more—with an eye toward simplicity, scalability, and strong flavour.
What You’ll Do:
Work with our office team to develop individual food menu items (e.g., breakfast burrito)
Provide tested, standardised recipes with clear prep and portion instructions
Advise on ingredients, preparation techniques, and sourcing options
Help ensure recipes suit a fast-paced drive-thru format (speed, consistency, cost control)
Collaborate on refining existing items or developing new concepts over time
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in culinary development, menu creation, or food product consulting
Background in commercial kitchens, QSR, food science, or fast food a big plus
Strong understanding of costing, prep efficiency, and food safety
Willingness to work with us on an ongoing, flexible basis
Ideally based in Victoria, but open to remote with occasional site visits
