Status: Full-Time, Onsite

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000
FLSA Status: Exempt
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (occasional evening/weekend events)

Position Summary
The Food Pantry Manager is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the Addison Township Community Market. This role ensures efficient, client-centered food distribution services while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. The Manager oversees inventory, coordinates volunteers, manages partnerships and donations, and supports community outreach efforts to ensure residents have reliable access to nutritious food.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operations, Inventory & Service Delivery
● Oversee all food pantry operations, including food distribution, client flow, and service delivery
● Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming pantry environment
● Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, storage, and proper food rotation
● Coordinate deliveries, donation intake, and food sourcing through food banks, vendors, and community partners
● Ensure compliance with food safety standards and township policies
● Implement and improve procedures to enhance efficiency and client experience
Staff & Volunteer Coordination
● Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers and any assigned staff
● Assign tasks, monitor performance, and maintain accountability for pantry operations
● Maintain volunteer records and track service hours
● Foster a positive and engaging volunteer experience
Partnerships, Outreach & Program Development
● Build and maintain relationships with food banks, donors, community organizations, and local partners
● Coordinate food drives and donation efforts with schools, businesses, and community groups
● Represent the pantry at community events and outreach initiatives
● Support communications including flyers, social media, and public awareness efforts
● Develop and implement new pantry initiatives and programs to better meet community needs
Administration, Reporting & Resource Management
● Maintain accurate records for clients, inventory, and services provided
● Track and report key metrics (e.g., residents served, households served, pounds of food distributed, volunteer engagement)
● Prepare reports for township leadership and grant requirements as needed
● Assist with or manage pantry budget, including tracking expenditures and identifying cost efficiencies
● Identify opportunities for additional funding, partnerships, and in-kind donations
● Perform other duties as assigned to support pantry operations and township initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required.
● Experience in food pantry operations, warehouse management, or community services preferred
● Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
● Ability to work with diverse populations with cultural sensitivity and professionalism
● Experience coordinating volunteers or teams preferred
● Commitment to public service and community impact
● Strong attention to detail and accountability
● Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs
● Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
● Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, databases, or similar systems)
● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
● Ability to lift and carry up to 40–60 pounds
● Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
● Ability to work in a warehouse-style environment with varying temperatures
● Combination of office and food pantry/warehouse setting
● Requires availability during pantry operating hours, including occasional evenings or weekends
