Qualifications:
• To effectively plan production requirements and request supplies and equipment, this person tastes items, examines menus, estimates food requirements, verifies production, and keeps records.
• You must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, push/pull up to 40 pounds, and carry up to 30 pounds while standing and walking.
• The chef de cuisine must be well-organized, well-dressed, and professional. He or she must also be a team player who collaborates effectively.
• As needed, assist with cleaning equipment and dishwashing machines to ensure that all kitchen spaces, tools, and utensils are clean.
• The Cook follows the facility menu when preparing and serving meals, which may include texture modified and therapeutic diets.
• Follows the company's scheduling requirements, which include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintains order and cleanliness in all kitchen spaces, including storage shelves, passageways, workstations, walk-ins, refrigerators, and coolers.
• A cook is responsible for setting up, food preparation, organization, sanitation, food and beverage item manufacturing, as well as closing and storing individual work stations.
• Produce high-quality hot and cold items as directed by the Executive Chef.
• In the absence of the Head Chef or Sous Chef, has overall responsibility for the kitchen's safety and efficiency.
Skills:
• HACCP policies and procedures are followed to the letter.
• A high school diploma or a bachelor's degree in general education (GED).
• Cooking experience in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen for at least one year is required.
• Possess the ability to focus and collaborate with a variety of supervisors.
• If you are 18 years of age or older, you must be able to pass a background check as required by Company policy, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, prior employer, education, and personal references, unless federal, state, or provincial legislation prohibits it
