Workshop Forklift Mechanic - Crestmead
$43.00 -$46.00 per hour
Casual ongoing position with potential for permanent placement
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Crestmead location, QLD
Workshop-based role
Overtime available
Your Key Responsibilities:
Perform vehicle servicing and inspections
Troubleshoot and repair forklift issues, including brakes, electrical, and hydraulic systems
Detect imperfections, potential issues, and malfunctions
Provide field service reporting on completed maintenance work
Diagnose and address mechanical faults
Work with LPG, petrol, and diesel systems
Knowledge of brake systems, tyre/wheel changes, and related repairs
Collaborate with the Maintenance/Workshop Manager on safety-related issues
Source required parts and manage service/maintenance schedules
Maintain service records to a high standard
Perform breakdown repairs, including offsite and roadside assistance
Maintain a safe and organized workshop and work area
Conduct safety inspections on machines before they are returned to the work floor
What We Are Looking For:
Current Trade Certificate in Heavy Vehicles, Forklift Mechanic, Plant, Motor Mechanic (Light), Automotive Electrical (or equivalent)
Must hold a current forklift license
Strong experience with internal combustion engines, hydraulics, pneumatic, and electrical systems
Proficiency in fault diagnostics and using diagnostic software
Safety-focused with thorough knowledge of WHS policies and procedures
Ability to track and document servicing and maintenance of all vehicles
Reliable, honest, and hardworking with a great work ethic
