Job Description
We are currently recruiting experienced Formwork Carpenters with substantial experience working on residential and commercial projects.
As a highly motivated and qualified Formwork Carpenter you are required to possess strong technical knowledge of the building and construction industry combined with a high level of attention to detail.
Key responsibilities:
Construct and Maintain Formwork: Build and repair temporary frameworks that support concrete during the pouring process. This includes using materials such as wood, metal, or plywood to create forms for walls, columns, and other structures.
Measure and Cut Materials: Accurately measure and cut materials to create forms that meet project specifications.
Interpreting plans, drawings and specifications to determine material needs, build order and layout.
Use a range of tools and equipment, as needed by job and site-specific conditions.
Ensure Safety Compliance: Follow safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets and steel-toed boots.
Collaborate with Construction Teams: Liaise with clients and work closely with other construction professionals to ensure that formwork is properly installed and that concrete is poured correctly.
Maintain tools and machinery in safe and efficient operating condition
Skills and experiences:
Qualification: An Australian Certificate III (or equivalent overseas qualification) is ideal but not essential to be considered for the role.
Experience in Carpentry: Previous experience in carpentry is a must.
Physical Fitness: The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is essential to ensure that forms are constructed accurately and safely.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise during the construction process.
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Work Environment
Formwork Carpenters typically work on construction sites, which may involve working at heights and in various weather conditions. The job may require travel to different job sites depending on project locations.
