Summary: The Foundation Accountant is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the integrity of the Foundation's internal accounting practices. This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate and transparent financial transactions and records. Additionally, the Foundation Accountant will monitor the Foundation's endowment to ensure strict adherence to internal policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include managing daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks such as recording and maintaining QuickBooks entries, performing bank reconciliations, processing bank deposits, and recording investment earnings and losses. Furthermore, this role will lead the Foundation's annual audit, ensuring compliance and accuracy throughout the process. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position.

Salary & Benefits
• Full Salary Range: $21.50- $31.82/hour - depending on education and experience
• Anticipated Hiring Range: $21.50 - $26.66/hour - depending on education and experience
• Cafeteria Plan: In addition to the base compensation, benefits-eligible employees receive an extra $5,640 per year to put toward benefit costs or to be used as additional take-home pay
• Paid Holidays: 21 (including a full week off between Christmas and New Year's Day and over Spring Break)
• Vacation & Sick Leave: Approximately 17 paid vacation days & + paid sick leave days accrued annually

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly financial reports and analyze accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness and assist with the preparation of the CCC Foundation budget.
• Develop and maintain procedures and internal controls for CCC Foundation accounting.
• Prepare journal entries and perform general ledger account reconciliations and analysis on a timely basis. This includes cash accounts, pledges and receivables, banks, investments, prepaid expenses, and liabilities.
• Monitor balances in cash accounts. Conduct cash flow projections.
• Accurately record and process receipt of funds such as physical cash and checks, payroll deductions, and electronic contributions.
• Enter and maintain merchant fees.
• Assess Foundation service fees
• Allocate activity to cost centers and restricted funds.
• Regularly review and monitor the foundation's endowment activities to ensure compliance with established internal policies and procedures.
• Prepare and present endowment compliance reports to direct supervisor and Vice President, highlighting any discrepancies or areas of concern.
• May assist with donor database information.
• Process physical and electronic distribution of funds. Ensure appropriate workflow and protocols are followed.
• Reconcile finance system to donor management software. May work with outside agencies to resolve issues.
• Monitor budgets and fund balances. Process transfers as needed.
• Conduct accrual analysis and monitor liquidity per established policies.
• Prepare monthly financial and budget reports as needed.
• Perform financial analysis as needed, including events profitability, endowment performance, and donor fund status.
• Responsible for processing 10++ forms.
• Prepare for annual audit, including annual ++0 filing. Primary liaison for audit questions.
• Interact and work collaboratively with CCC Finance on a wide-range of matters.
• Evaluate Foundation accounting policies and procedures and makes recommendations as needed.
• Maintain currency of knowledge and skills related to the duties and responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of the principles, practices, and standards of accounting.
• Knowledge and skill using integrated administrative systems and spreadsheet programs.
• Skilled in positive and professional written and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to analyze and problem-solve.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications, such as, Excel and Word.
• Expert level knowledge of Quickbooks online.
• Ability to adhere to professional code of conduct and ethics.
• Ability to support and promote the mission, values, purposes, and Strategic Plan of the College.
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse and team environment.
• Able to effectively work in an environment with strict deadlines and a high need for accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Management, or related field, and 1 year of related experience; or 5 years of related experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job and/or as approved by the Human Resources department.
Preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Two years of experience in non-profit accounting. Experience interacting with staff, students and faculty in a community college setting.
