Job Description
We are seeking certified freelance Audio Description Writers to join our content accessibility team for an ongoing eLearning project.
Key Responsibilities:
• Write accurate, clear, and age-appropriate audio description (AD) scripts for pre-recorded K–12 educational videos.
• Follow DCMP guidelines and Audio Description Project (ADP) standards to ensure content quality and accessibility.
• Collaborate with content producers, editors, and instructional designers to align AD with learning outcomes.
• Ensure cultural sensitivity, objectivity, and clarity in all descriptions.
• Deliver high-quality scripts within tight turnaround times.
Requirements:
• Certified in Audio Description Writing (DCMP, ACB, or similar recognized body).
• Minimum 2 years' experience in AD writing.
• Proven experience in writing AD for educational or eLearning content, not just entertainment.
• Deep understanding of age-appropriate language and pedagogical context for K–12 learners.
• Strong grammar, clarity, and concise writing skills.
• Familiarity with time-coded scripting tools and accessibility workflows.
Nice to Have:
• Background in education, special education, linguistics, or instructional design.
• Portfolio of at least 3 relevant AD samples in educational settings.
• Familiarity with screen reader tools or audio engineering basics.
