🎨 We’re Hiring: HOMEWARE DESIGNER – TEXTILES & HARD GOODS

📍 Manchester (Hybrid – 4 Days Office / 1 Day WFH)

🕒 Full-Time | Global Homeware & Fashion Supplier

Salary £30 - £45k doe

✨ Are you a visionary designer with a flair for home textiles and hard goods?

Bring your creativity to life with a fast-paced, trend-led business shaping the future of homeware across the UK, Europe, USA & Canada!

Since 2005, our client has delivered high-quality, affordable homeware and fashion products to top high street retailers – and now expanding their home design team.

Candidates must be able to travel to Europe/Far East/ States and around the UK/Ireland visiting customers, suppliers and Trade Fairs.

🔥 What You’ll Do:

50 % textiles / 50 % hardgoods design

Packaging Design

Designing hard goods such as candles, home products

Graphic for hard good graphics for hard goods like candles

🎨 Create Show-Stopping Designs – Repeat prints, placements, jacquards, and more across soft furnishings & hard home goods.

👀 .

💡 Set the Mood – Develop mood boards, seasonal palettes & product stories that wow buyers.

💻 Design with Precision – Master Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & CAD to bring your ideas to life.

🧵 Source & Specify – Select materials that balance look, feel, function, and cost.

🌏 Work Globally – Collaborate with top-tier factories & suppliers across the Far East.

✅ Own the Process – From sampling to production, ensure every product looks as good in-store as on screen.

💼 What You’ll Bring:

Proven experience designing home textiles or hard goods (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, lounge).

A track record of working with overseas factories/suppliers (China/Far East).

Confidence in pitching to major UK retailers (Primark, etc.).

Expert-level skills in Adobe Illustrator + solid CAD know-how.

Strong market awareness and understanding of commercial homeware design.

Job description

Our client, a global streetwear brand, is seeking an experienced Freelance Designer to create a loungewear and sleepwear collection — primarily womenswear, with some menswear pieces. The project is for a premium activewear and athleisure brand .

Salary : Market Rate

Location : Hybrid (London/Manchester/Birmingham)

Start : Immediate (ideally)

UK applicants only considered.

As Streetwear Designer you will be:

• Researching trends and key items seasonally.

• Prepare relevant and creative research on themes, colours and fabrics based on the seasonal brief.

• Put together mood and trend boards.

• Work closely with Head of Design to build seasonal range.

• Initiate original design sketches/technical specs for all the styles following the seasonal brief.

• Design the collection.

• Put together spec sheets and technical packs for the designs.

• Attend fit sessions and implement changes into specs and tech packs.

• Communicate the changes to the relevant suppliers/factories.

Ideal Candidate / Experience and Skills Required:

• You will ideally have at least 2-3 years’ experience in designing multiproduct apparel.

• Advanced knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft packages.

• Experience in research and initial board ideas, through to design development and creation of technical diagrams.

• Knowledge of trends and researching trends within relevant market

• Knowledge of garment and fabric construction, with a good understanding of pattern cutting.

• Highly self-motivated and proactive, with excellent communication skills.
