We’re currently preparing to launch our first collection, and are looking for a passionate designer to collaborate with us from the very start.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Freelance Fashion Designer to work closely with the founder to design capsule collections and product lines for NVRMIND.
This will start as a project-based role, where you’ll be compensated per collection or project as per mutually agreed terms. If your work aligns well with our brand culture, vision, and resonates with our audience, there is a clear path to evolve into a full-time in-house designer role with NVRMIND.
Key Responsibilities
• Conceptualize and design capsule collections (initially focused on menswear, expanding to unisex and womenswear).
• Develop moodboards, design mockups, flat sketches, and tech packs for sampling and production.
• Research trends, fabrics, fits, and silhouettes aligned with NVRMIND’s vision—global streetwear, Korean-inspired shapes, and premium essentials tailored for Indian consumers.
• Collaborate with the founder on fabric sourcing, fits, and sampling iterations.
• Ensure all designs maintain brand consistency—minimal yet bold, cultural yet modern, effortless yet impactful.
• Coordinate with manufacturers/suppliers to:
- Explain designs and resolve queries related to patterns, prints, fabrics, or construction.
- Ensure samples and final products match the approved tech packs and design guidelines.
- Oversee adjustments during sampling and pre-production stages.
• Contribute ideas for collection names, campaign themes, and creative direction when required.
Requirements
• 2–5 years of professional experience in fashion design, ideally in streetwear, casualwear, or contemporary essentials.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating capsule collections, lookbooks, tech packs, and production-ready designs.
• Ability to create both visual mockups and detailed technical sketches (tech packs) for factory handovers.
• Understanding of garment construction, sizing, fabric blends, and sampling processes.
• Proficiency in tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Clo3D (or equivalent).
• Comfortable with collaborative feedback loops and iterative design processes.
• Passion for crafting timeless essentials with aura—designs that are bold yet wearable, elevated yet approachable.
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
• Experience working with D2C fashion brands, streetwear labels, or emerging start-ups.
• Familiarity with production timelines, MOQ management, and supplier coordination.
• Knowledge of fabric blends, GSM selection, and comfort-fit design for the Indian climate.
