Job Opportunity: Freelance Landscape Architect
We are seeking a skilled and experienced freelance Landscape Architect to join our team for an exciting project involving the design of two roof terraces and a naturally planted green roof for a mixed-use commercial building in London. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with our in-house team of architects and designers, contributing to the project from the initial planning stages through to construction management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with our team to deliver landscape architecture services across RIBA stages 0-3, from initial project planning to obtaining planning approval.
• Following planning approval, lead the technical design and construction management stages, ensuring all landscape elements are implemented to the highest standards.
• Develop innovative and sustainable designs for roof terraces and green roofs, with a focus on creating contemporary, well-planned spaces.
• Create native planting schemes and integrate comprehensive irrigation and drainage plans.
• Utilize BIM/REVIT/AUTOCAD software for design and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with BREEAM standards and Building Regulations for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).
• Attend regular meetings in London to maintain close collaboration with our in-house team.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Landscape Architect, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in roof terrace and green roof design.
• Proficiency in BIM/REVIT/AUTOCAD is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with BREEAM standards and experience in delivering projects compliant with Building Regulations for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong project management skills, with experience handling RIBA stages 0-3 and beyond.
• London-based and available to attend regular meetings in person.
