Melrosia is a London-based lifestyle brand with a strong presence in jewellery and womenswear. Our collections are designed for an international audience, blending artisanal craftsmanship with modern, versatile silhouettes. We work across both boutique and high-street markets, with a strong emphasis on prints, embroideries, and thoughtful detailing.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Freelance Womenswear Designer to collaborate with us on a project basis. The ideal candidate will have experience designing for UK & USA markets , with the ability to translate mood boards into cohesive, commercially viable collections and develop detailed tech packs for product development.
This is a hybrid role, primarily remote, but you may need to commute to our Gurgaon site when required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design womenswear collections based on mood boards and brand direction.
• Ensure designs balance commercial viability with originality and brand identity .
• Focus on prints, embroideries, and surface detailing within designs.
• Create detailed CADs, spec sheets, and tech packs that are fully production-ready.
• Include accurate measurements, stitch details, trims, embroidery placements, and finishing notes.
• Collaborate with the PD team to ensure smooth sampling and development.
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 4–5 years of experience in womenswear design for international markets (UK & USA).
• Background working with both boutique and high-street brands.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop or similar design software.
• Ability to create production-ready CADs & detailed tech packs .
• Understanding of fabrics, finishes, trims, and wash techniques.
• Familiarity with the sampling and development process .
• Skilled in print and embroidery development .
• Ability to work independently and deliver within project timelines.
• Based in Delhi/NCR, with the ability to travel to Gurgaon as required.
