Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English and French Tutor to join our learning centre team. The ideal candidate will have strong language skills in both English and French and a genuine commitment to helping students achieve academic success.This role involves teaching reading, writing, grammar, and communication skills in English, as well as vocabulary, grammar, and conversational fluency in French. The tutor will work with students from elementary to high school levels, supporting their growth in language proficiency, literacy, and confidence.
Duties
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the Ontario curriculum and adapted to each student’s learning needs.
Deliver effective English and French lessons to students from Grades 1–12.
Reinforce grammar, reading comprehension, writing skills, and oral communication in both languages.
Prepare students for school exams, standardized tests, and academic success.
Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Create an inclusive, supportive, and motivating learning environment for diverse learners.
Communicate effectively with the centre’s management about student performance.
Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and organization in all sessions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, French, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
Fluency in both English and French (spoken and written) is required.
Experience in classroom teaching or tutoring, especially in language instruction, is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage students and explain complex concepts clearly.
Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports diverse learning styles and needs.
Ability to teach in-person at the learning centre location (this is not a remote position).
Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum is an asset.
Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for helping students develop strong language skills and confidence.
