Job Overview
The Front Desk Administrator is responsible for all receptionist and clerical duties. As the front desk administrator, you will be the “face” of the company and will be responsible for the first impression we make on families seeking guidance during a difficult time. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and to collaborate cohesively with the in-house team.
As an in-house Funeral Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to the lead funeral director with in-house viewings, memorial and funeral services in a respectful and caring demeanor. You will be expected to assist in setting up the chapel for funeral services. You will be expected to greet and direct visitors throughout the funeral home. You must be able to manage stressful and emotional situations with sensitivity as well as being respectful to funeral customs and procedures of other religions.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of basic computer skills
Compassionate and empathetic
Detailed-oriented with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Answer all incoming calls
Assist with CIDS and Public Fiduciary cases
Order and assist with death certificate
Greet and welcome guests
Deliver cremated remains to the Post Office
Make post office runs for other deliveries
Keep updated records and files
Receive first call information
Give out over the telephone pricing as well as walk-ins
And other responsibilities as needed
Education and Experience
A minimum of 1-3 years of clerical experience is preferred. Previous funeral home experience is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
