Job Title: Front-end Developer
We are seeking a skilled and creative front-end developer to join our team. As a key player in the development of our consumer-facing product, you will be responsible for bringing innovative ideas to life and building high-quality user interfaces that meet the needs of our users.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and Git, with experience in responsive web design, cross-platform browsers, and modern development techniques such as Vue, React, or other JS frameworks. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively with internal customers, and a passion for analytics and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop beautiful and easy-to-use UIs that meet the simplicity, usability, and attention to detail required by our brand.
Create rapid prototypes for testing products and new concepts.
Construct designs using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and other technologies to build pixel-perfect, interactive experiences.
Maintain web standards and stay up-to-date with new technologies and advertising trends.
Work with internal customers to determine project goals and deliverable timeframes.
Requirements:
Graduate from a 4-year school with a graphic design degree or computer science degree (or close equivalent) and 1-3 years of experience in front-end development and other relevant interactive media.
Demonstrated portfolio or list of stellar web sites and projects that showcase excellent coding principles and problem-solving through visual communication.
Excellent interpersonal skills and significant experience working cross-functionally.
Able to find creative solutions to solve technical problems and use creativity to build elements and make things more efficient.
Ability to understand business objectives and proactively contribute both strategic and innovative ideas.
Interest in the analytics associated with the creatives produced and tested to improve pages by making small but significant changes.
Professional Knowledge:
Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS, SASS/LESS.
Knowledge of Responsive Web Design and building custom grids.
Able to create clean and concise code for cross-platform browsers - no WYSIWYG.
Able to write JavaScript (and/or jQuery) at an intermediate level (form validation, developing calculations, DOM manipulation).
Experience with GIT in a production environment, and comfortable with resolving code conflicts or versioning issues.
Plus: Developing in a mobile-first UI perspective.
Plus: Simple CSS animation using Keyframes.
Plus: Experience with Vue, React, or other JS frameworks.
Plus: Experience using automated scripting tools like gulp to build automated development processes leveraging NPM or Yarn, Node.js and other modern development techniques.
