Senior Frontend developer
Duration: 6 months contract (potential extension)
Rate: $45 - $52 w2 hourly
Location: Chicago, IL (remote)
We are looking for Senior Frontend developer with traditional frontend experience plus React JS , who can independently work with minimal support from the team.
Purpose
A good front end developer should always be interested in learning about new technologies and understand that “frameworks” come and go, but having a good foundation in basics like JavaScript and CSS and the underlying concepts that drive each will allow you to thrive in a new technology where others might struggle.
Position Responsibilities
• Implement guest facing user experiences using a mix of front end technologies based in JavaScript and CSS.
• Work with UX team to implement responsive designs that follow a “mobile-first” methodology.
• Adhere to coding standards to write code that is understandable by everyone on the team.
• Write unit tests that emphasize “quality” over “line coverage”.
• Communicate with other developers both on your team and other teams throughout the organization.
• Visual “eye” for breaking down a “comp” into its individual UI components in order to articulate the implementation details when requested.
Experience And Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (CS) related field or equivalent work/academic experience.
• Good foundation with both JavaScript and CSS.
• Minimum 1 year experience developing responsive websites.
Preferred Skills
• Know just enough of 1 or more JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular
• Experience working with CSS preprocessors such as LESS or SASS.
• Understanding of source control management systems such as Git.
