The Educare Foundation is seeking motivated individuals for their Afterschool programs from Dance Instruction, Math Tutoring, Fitness Hub, and general program supervision.
The Front Line Staff works with the After School Program Site Coordinator to provide academic, enrichment and physical recreation programs to students attending EduCare Foundation’s (EduCare’s) After School Programs. The Front Line Staff works directly with the students as a tutor, instructor and/or coach, and creates engaging, interesting, educational and fun programs and activities. The Site Staff mentors students, and will ensure a safe, caring after school program environment for all students that encourages creativity, expression and social emotional learning (SEL).
Location: Downtown Magnet High School (DMHS)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Documents programming and activities in activity plans.
Actively manages assigned program(s), constantly interacts with and mentors the students attending the program(s), and encourages students to learn new things and step out of their comfort zone.
Modifies programs and activities based on feedback from the students, and the Site Coordinator and/or other After School Program management.
Supports and participates in after school program events and field trips as assigned.
Actively recruits students to participate in after school programs, events and field trips in order to support the school site’s attendance goals.
Effectively and professionally communicates with the students, school administration and staff, parents, EduCare management, and after school program observers.
Performs daily attendance responsibilities:
Follows EduCare’s compliance procedures with regard to collecting and documenting students’ attendance in their programs and during events or field trips.
Instructs the students to complete the sign-in and sign-out procedures, relays the importance of the sign-in and sign-out process.
Submits completed and signed attendance sheets daily to the After School Program office.
Submits daily attendance through the electronic BTB App if working at a Los Angeles Unified School District school site.
Follows EduCare’s compliance procedures with regard to After School Registration Forms.
Follows school, district and EduCare school site safety protocols, policies and procedures.
Attends professional development, site staff meetings and EduCare organizational meetings.
Performs other duties or projects as assigned.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Education: Must have a high school diploma or GED and at minimum either an Associates Degree from a recognized college or university, or completed twelve (12) semester units from a recognized college or university.
Experience: One (1) years’ experience working in youth-centered programs and/or community based organizations. One (1) years’ experience teaching, leading, and/or supporting students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; and Internet software.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Other Skills and Abilities: Some evenings and weekends may be required. Bilingual (English/ Spanish) is a plus. Must be high energy, flexible, adaptable, and flourish in a team environment.
Other Requirements: Although the employee will be assigned to a specific school site location, if EduCare’s needs change, the employee may be re-assigned to another school site location. Must be willing and able to travel to multiple locations throughout the Los Angeles area for trainings, meetings, etc. on an as needed basis. Must successfully complete the Live Scan background check prior to beginning employment. Must present proof of negative Tuberculosis skin test (Mantoux) dated within 60 days prior to hire date before beginning employment. Must complete a CPR/First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment. Completion of other required trainings (i.e., worker’s compensation, training against harassment, etc.) when assigned.
