Mō te tūnga | About the role

This is a face to face role based at the Public Counter in Cambridge that are pivotal to the efficient and effective delivery of service to members of the public needing assistance. Every day you will be dealing with challenging situations which will need to be approached with professionalism, respect, and empathy, in a positive manner. You will be welcoming customers into the station and ensuring their enquiries are understood, recorded, and handled appropriately.

To support Police staff, you will also receive exhibits, support frontline investigations and calls for service through NIA and camera operation, order supplies, manage courier deliveries, and act as a general fountain of knowledge. The successful applicant must have sound computer skills, ability to learn new systems and applications and have an excellent command of the English language (proficient in both spoken and written English).

The public counter at Cambridge is open Mon-Fri 8am-4pm.

Key Accountabilities:
Dealing with challenging circumstances in a customer services environment.
Investigation support using Police databases and tools.
Assessing information received from members of the public and recording it accurately, to support assessment and investigation decisions.
Reviewing incident and offence reports from Constabulary staff around the country and providing feedback when required.
Managing conflicting demands by working collaboratively with regionally based teams.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $69,337 and $72,430 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
