JEI Learning Center North Richmond Hill (11685 Yonge St.) is an after-school enrichment program for students ages 4 to 13 (no infants or toddlers). THE MAIN FOCUS OF OUR PROGRAM CATERS JK to Grade 8 students - teaching experience in ELEMENTARY grades is a MUST.
We are looking for ONE experienced and committed individual FLUENT in English (Oral, reading, writing).
This is a permanent full-time 35 hours per week position.
Center hours Monday to Friday 11:45am-6:45pm & Saturday +:30am-12:00pm.
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Lead Teacher to join our team. This role blends teaching, leadership, and operational support in a collaborative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach JEI programs (English, Math, Reading & Writing, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Camps), create camp lessons and oversee curriculum planning.
Mentor, train and support teaching staff; provide guidance and feedback
Create student progress reports and adjust instruction as needed
Create and manage daily class schedules; assign team roles
Lead weekly staff meetings and assist with administrative tasks
Collaborate with the Director of Operations to enhance center performance
Contribute to marketing initiatives; brainstorm creative outreach ideas
Utilize Canva and social media platforms to promote programs and events
Priorities are given to candidates with:
Strong Math skills (Up to Grade 8)
Experience in Lesson planning
Previous teaching/tutoring experience a MUST, especially exposure to different learning styles. Previous experience with special needs and/or learning disabilities a plus.
Collaborative and creative mindset, with an affinity for problem-solving
Strong passion for the development and education of our youth
Criminal record check must be submitted
