Job Description
Chinook’s Edge School Division invites applications for a full-time Library Technician, Monday to Friday 8:00am until 4:00pm at Penhold Waskasoo Middle School. Penhold Waskasoo is a grade 4 through 8 school, with a population of 410 students and 30 staff members.
The successful candidate will be actively involved in creating an environment that is dynamic and collaborative for inquiry, with unlimited accessibility, where all learners are welcomed, engaged and supported in their personalized learning pursuits both in the learning commons and within classrooms. This would also include: working with students through varying formats and roles, circulation, maintaining and updating the resources necessary for a school library, and providing research and resource support to students and staff at the school. The successful candidate would build and maintain Makerspace items to support project based learning, and our CTF option classes. The current learning commons currently houses a robotics set for hands-on learning and exploration.
Preference will be given to internal candidates, individuals who have Library Technician certification and those who have Technology and Destiny experience.
