Job Description
At SOS Drain Cleaning, we’re doing everything we can to be Calgary’s best plumbing and drain cleaning company. We’ve earned a 4.+-star review rating on Google because we truly care about providing excellent service and doing the best thing for the customer, every time.
We’re looking for a service plumber to join our team. We do all the standard service plumbing stuff for both residential and commercial customers, but our work-life balance is better than a lot of service companies. Our plumbers work 8-4 and have very few after-hours or weekend jobs (unless they want extra hours and extra pay). We don’t have a mandatory on-call rotation. We also don’t expect our plumbers to be salespeople; we just expect them to do great work.
We’re looking for someone who truly cares about helping people, who communicates well, and who has an upbeat attitude. We also want someone who’s a problem solver and a learner – as our lead plumber puts it, we’re looking for a solutions mindset. This might all sound touchy-feely, but we really think it’s what makes the difference between doing an okay job and an excellent one.
Our plumbers spend about half of their time doing drain cleaning, so extensive experience with drains would be a strong plus. On the other hand, if you don’t want to touch drains, that's ok, but unfortunately we’re not the right place for you.
We’re open to hiring the right person part-time – we’d rather hire a great plumber to part-time than an okay plumber full-time.
We need you to have an Alberta journeyperson plumbing ticket or second- to fourth-year apprenticeship. For insurance reasons we're not able to employ self-taught plumbers.
If you genuinely like people, and won’t leave a job until it’s done right, we’d love to hear from you.
Thanks for your interest!
