Job Title: Functional Analyst

Our client is seeking a Finance Systems Analyst who will partner closely with functional leaders, product teams, engineering, and cross‑department stakeholders—including Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Tax, and Reporting—to build, enhance, and scale technology solutions that support enterprise-wide financial operations. This role translates business objectives into functional system capabilities while ensuring finance platforms remain optimized, reliable, and aligned with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Functional Support
• Work collaboratively with the broader team to identify, recommend, and develop system configurations or custom solutions that address business needs.
• Provide functional expertise across financial technology areas such as accounting, planning, tax, analytics, and reporting.
• Translate business requirements into detailed configuration specifications and maintain documentation such as user stories and Agile artifacts.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
• Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure designs are scalable, compliant, and aligned with corporate governance and best practices.
• Support the adoption of standardized design frameworks to reduce rework and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Participate in system review sessions to communicate technical and functional details to deployment and operations teams.
Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement
• Serve as a subject‑matter resource for troubleshooting system issues, performing root‑cause analysis, and supporting ongoing optimization efforts.
• Identify opportunities to enhance processes through automation, AI/ML solutions, and smarter workflows.
• Promote continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to financial systems, integrations, and data structures.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Required Experience
• 3–5 years of experience supporting finance functions through financial systems or technology solutions.
• Hands-on experience with platforms such as Workday, Microsoft BI, SAP BPC, or Microsoft D365.
• Strong analytical abilities and understanding of financial processes including consolidations, planning, analytics, and reporting.
• Proven skills in writing clear functional requirements and collaborating with engineering teams.
• Solid grasp of data modeling and system integrations across finance ecosystems.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with stakeholders in global environments.
Skills & Competencies
• Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean, Kanban, XP).
• Customer-focused, results-driven mindset typical of Agile development environments.
• Exposure to automation tools and AI‑enabled finance solutions.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced setting, balance multiple priorities, and meet deadlines consistently.
