The Water Corporation is one of Western Australia’s largest land managers with the Bushfire Mitigation Program managing bushfire risk to our assets and our neighbours throughout the State.
The role will require you to assess, coordinate and implement Gap Treatment work for the Bushfire Mitigation Program ensuring that the Water Corporation meet their regulatory obligations and satisfies the operational objectives of key stakeholders. i.e., on time, to budget and within technical, OSH, Environmental and Quality standards.

What You’ll Do
Assessing the bushfire risk of Water Corporation land via Desktop analysis and field investigation
You will coordinate with and support, multi-functional project teams through the program delivery process and facilitate the scoping, design and delivery of defined Site Assessment and Gap Treatment Works
Support the execution of works that form the Bushfire Mitigation Program in accordance with the Business unit’s Program Management Procedures and OSH, Environmental and Quality Management Systems
Liaise with industry professionals from Local Governments, DFES, DBCA etc.to promote and execute strategic bushfire risk mitigation activities
Supervision of various contractors engaged by the Bushfire Mitigation Program to complete Gap Treatment Works
Coordinating the negotiation and awarding of contracts to procure services, equipment and works to achieve program objectives
Key Skills And Experience
Being a technical role, ideally you would have experience in Gap Treatment activities including cold burns, weed spray and mechanical clearing principals.
C class drivers’ licence is essential for this role
Substantial experience in conducting Bushfire Risk Assessments
Considerable experience in project and contractor management
Desirable Skills
BAL Assessor Level
Knowledge of relevant State and Commonwealth statutes associated with Bushfire Management
Previous experience in a VBFB or similar Fire Agency
