Position Summary
A Senior Technician here at Southern Cross supports repair, calibration, and certification of gas detection instruments. This role is critical to Sparus’ Authorized Service & Repair Center operations and includes advanced diagnostics, quality compliance, and technical leadership.

Reports To
Service & Repair Manager
Key Responsibilities
Advanced repair, reprogramming, and calibration of portable gas detectors
Certified calibration using approved gases and fixtures
Troubleshooting electrical, sensor, mechanical, and firmware issues
Speaking with customers to diagnose, repair and program instruments
Maintain OEM compliant documentation and traceability
Mentor junior technicians and support audits
Required Qualifications
5+ years repairing/calibrating gas detection or electronic instruments
Strong electronics troubleshooting background
Experience with calibration standards and gases
High attention to detail and documentation
Preferred Qualifications
Prior gas detection instrument experience
Electronics repair certifications and training
Lean service or Kanban familiarity
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Bench-based technical environment with ESD controls.
Regular handling of small mechanical and electronic components.
Occasional lifting to 30 lbs.
Use of calibration gases and test chambers in controlled conditions.
Rate of Pay

$20.00 - $24.00 (depending on experience)
