Responsibilities
The Gas Skilled Laborer/Groundman is responsible for supporting the crew by assisting with the installation and repair of gas lines
The candidate will gather materials for the job that day and make sure the crew has everything required to complete the tasks at hand
Distribute material at job site
Hand locate existing utilities
Hand grade landscape areas
Safely operate equipment, such as rubber-tired backhoe, skid steer loader, directional drill, trencher, asphalt paving machine, etc
Utilize equipment after the Operator digs the ditch line for gas mains
Lift heavy natural gas pipelines for installation, when needed
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting
Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind
