We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.
In this role, you will:
• The role of the GCP engineer is to facilitate the application teams across the GPS to deploy and their applications across GKE container, availability zone and adopt the Kong Control and Data planes.
• The CLOUD Engineer should be the go-to person in case application team faces any issue during API gateway adoption, onboarding, deployment and environment troubleshooting.
• The CLOUD Engineer can work independently without any continuous supports from seniors / peers
• Engage in the wider HSBC cloud communities of practice and ensure alignment of Platform practices with global HSBC CLOUD strategy
Day to day activities include:
• Help application teams to onboarding activities
• Willing to work in rotational shift to provide 247 Support
• Help application teams in any issue with application configurations and deployments
• Help Application teams to implement best application build and deployment best practices
• Coordinate with ITID, CICD, Architect and Application teams in case of any infrastructure or any other issues with platform
• Proactive identification of any potential issues/ blocker related to application / platform / infrastructure
• Governance to ensure adherence to standards and best practice to maximize reuse and avoid over and underutilization of platform
• Able to identify the automating some manual process and he/she should be able to implement the Terraform automation solution
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
• At least 8+ years of technical experience in the following GCP, AWS, Java, Kubernetes, MVN, SQL, Oracle etc. Should be GCP certified cloud Engineer having hands on experience in GKE, networking concept
• Should have experience in creating / amended Terraform scripts at GKE. should have experience in creating images and deploy on GKE (google cloud), Monitoring cloud via Stack driver
• Familiar with databases such as Oracle, SQL, RDS and Postgres. Should have basic understanding and experience with containerized SpringBoot applications.
• Should understand the CI/CD Jenkin concepts and Automation via SonarIQ, Nexus. Should be able to conduct Unit\Component testing via Junit Eclipse IDE, Postman, Selenium tools etc
• Strong understanding and skills on Unix\Linux, Shell scripting. Familiar with the API Gateway pattern, Microservice and 3DC models. Strong communication skills and documentation skills, ability to Use confluence /JIRA tools
• Enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent time management skills and strong initiative. Able to work independently and effectively under pressure. Able to adapt in global team culture and communicate with teammate in different locati
The successful candidate will also meet the following requirements:
• Good understanding of Azure Cloud or Hybrid Cloud approach implementations
• Good understanding and experience on MuleSoft / PCF/Any Gateway Server Implementations
• Hands on experience in Kong API Gateway platform
• Good understanding and experience on Middleware and MQ areas.
• Familiar with infrastructure support Apache Gateway, runtime Server Configurations, SSL Cert setup etc
