Job Title: Cleaning and Maintenance IN charge
Job Summary:
The Cleaning and Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring that the facility is clean, orderly, and well-maintained. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks, conducting minor repairs, and maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the premises. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to perform a variety of maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cleaning Duties:
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all areas of the facility.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, countertops, and furniture.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
• Empty trash bins and replace liners.
• Sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies (e.g., toilet paper, soap), and maintain cleanliness.
• Handle cleaning of specialized areas (e.g., kitchens, laboratories) following proper protocols.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
• Maintenance Duties:
• Perform minor repairs such as fixing leaky faucets, changing light bulbs, and adjusting door hinges.
• Conduct routine inspections of the facility’s equipment and systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) to ensure proper functioning.
• Replace filters, lubricate machinery, and perform other preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
• Coordinate with external vendors for more complex repairs or maintenance services.
• Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and maintenance materials, and reorder as necessary.
• Health and Safety:
• Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while performing tasks.
• Use cleaning agents and tools safely and according to manufacturer instructions.
• Ensure that all cleaning and maintenance work areas are secured and safe.
• Report any safety hazards or potential risks to the supervisor immediately.
• Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning and maintenance tasks performed.
• Document any repairs or issues encountered and communicate with management about the status.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in cleaning or maintenance roles is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
