Have knowledge of production agriculture and production plant operations
Can safely perform duties in a timely fashion while maintaining seed quality
Are able to work independently or with a team
Can adjust to changing conditions and anticipate needs
Are able to work in an environment that is exposed to Corn Pollen, Weed Pollen and Corn Dust
Maintain enthusiasm, a good attitude, honesty, and a willingness to treat all with respect
Are able to work long hours and rotational shifts, including overtime as needed
Have the ability to communicate verbally and in written form
Can lift, push, pull up to 60 pounds, work indoors and outdoors, and walk on uneven surfaces

Responsibilities

Chance to contribute to the production of high-quality seed products
Supporting a variety of responsibilities based on the current season, such as inspecting and maintaining seed crops, supporting seed inventory management, harvesting and seed packaging, cleaning and packaging seed, and warehousing and shipping seed

Completing a wide range of harvest activities, including husk and sort operations
Operating dryer to dry crop within prescribed safety, quality, and financial requirements
Shelling and storing crop from bins in the dryer facility
Supplying the Conditioning department with a constant supply of seed
Applying appropriate treatment to seed
Labeling, tagging, bagging, and palletizing seed
Entering inventory information into the computer
Staging seed for shipment in the warehouse
Re-bagging backhaul (returned) seed
Inspecting pro boxes to ensure they are free of debris and clean
Washing pro boxes as necessary

What’s a typical day as a General Labor? You’ll be:
