Chopsticks is looking for a Kitchen Helper to join our team in Castlegar, BC.

• *Responsibilities**:

• *Prepare food in a timely and efficient manner.**

- Follow recipes and portion sizes specified by the kitchen manager.

- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and cooking utensils.

- Follow all health and safety standards for kitchen environments.

- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.

• *Experience**:

• *Previous experience in a restaurant or other related industries preferred.**

Job description

Job Duties:

Assembly:

- Perform assembly duties assigned by assembly technicians in a timely manner, including but not limited to:

- Assist assembly technician in work station preparations by gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials

- Cleaning and preparing parts for assembly for both projects related and spare parts/IO orders

- Perform mechanical assembly procedures instructed by assembly technician by using shop procedures, and other written or verbal instructions

- Cleaning and preparing completed assembled equipment/parts for shipping, including but not limited to; dusting, vacuuming, degreasing, removal of dirt build-up, finger prints, adhesive stains etc.

- Assist assembly technician in shipping and receiving duties, including but not limited:

- Operate manual material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and wheeled charts safety

Shipping:

- Lift and carry merchandises as needed

- Assembles wooden or cardboard containers

- Load and unload pallets to and from trailers

- Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape, using strapping machine

- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies

- Work with hand tools for assembly and shipping duties (training provided)

Other

- Maintain the production area clean, safe and organized

- Cleaning in the production floor, including but not limited to dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning hand/power/hydraulic tools etc.

- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results

- Cooperate with the rest of the staff

Requirements and Qualifications:

- Legally eligible to work in Canada

- Highschool diploma and/or equivalent educational experience: vocational school or trade certificates is an asset

- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat and lift 50 pounds

- Proven working experience in General Labor

- Able to work independently or as a team member

• *Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

• *Salary**: $15.00-$18.00 per hour
