Quick Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager – Weaving to lead our manufacturing operations at General Polytex Ltd. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, operational discipline, and deep technical expertise in Air Jet and Water Jet weaving. You will oversee daily plant operations, manage production teams, and ensure our output meets both volume and quality expectations.
This role is critical to the company’s scale-up journey and directly supports our vision of becoming a global, sustainability-first textile brand.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and direction to the weaving operations team, including supervisors, technicians, and loom operators.
• Manage daily operations of both Air Jet and Water Jet weaving machines, ensuring optimal loom utilisation.
• Oversee production planning, shift scheduling, and manpower deployment.
• Maintain and enforce quality standards, minimising fabric defects and returns.
• Handle recruitment, onboarding, and continuous training of plant staff.
• Monitor plant costs and support financial planning, including budgets, payroll, and production forecasting.
• Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
• Create and maintain dashboards for daily performance reporting.
• Serve as the key point of contact for the Chairman’s Office and Post-Sales leadership.
Qualifications (Preferred):
• 12+ years of experience in weaving manufacturing, preferably in leadership roles.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and maintain production discipline.
• Technical expertise in loom settings, production planning, and fault diagnosis.
• Experience working with budgets, payroll systems, and forecasting tools.
• Strong administrative and communication skills.
• Degree or diploma in Textile Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Customer service mindset when collaborating with sales and fulfilment teams.
