Hotel General Manager Calgary This position is for a hotel located in Calgary. The hotel has restaurant facilities, meeting rooms, pool, spa and waterslide. The general manager will be responsible for the following: Responsibilities : Address customer complaints and concerns to guest satisfaction and brand satisfaction : Know and train staff on hotels PMS and POS system for front desk : Supervise staff including front office manager, food and beverage, executive housekeeper, maintenance and front line staff (approximately 20 staff members), : Delegate responsibilities to employees : Recruit, hire and train staff : Conduct regular performance reviews of employees and resolve any employee complaints : Negotiate with clients for group room bookings or limited meeting space bookings : Work with sales director regarding sales activities and marketing endeavors : Participate in revenue management : Order monthly supplies for the hotel through specified vendors : Monitor cost control of supplies : Supplies must be counted and inventory conducted on regular basis : Prepare and review schedules for front desk, food and beverate, housekeeping : Conduct training sessions for employees as per brand standards : Ensure compliance with brand standards for inspection : Contact companies with direct bill and A/R accounts and send them monthly folios : Submit invoices to accounting for payment : Inspect guest rooms, public areas and outside grounds for cleanliness : Ensure maintenance manager is performing pool and hot tub chemical tests, temperature and water levels and samples are submitted to AHS on time : Submit payroll hours to accounting semi-monthly : Labor cost-control procedures and ensure payroll budget is not exceeded : Ensure reviews as responded to on all platforms by front office manager : Ensure brand enrollment targets are met : Perfomr other duties as needed Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s licence Opera experience is an asset for front desk system A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the hotel industry. Previous management experience in the hotel industry is an asset. Professional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Resilience through daily stressful situations. Full-time position 44 hours per week A team player who can be part of a team and execute exceptional service. High standards of ethics, honesty and integrity. Proficiency with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft word, Excel and outlook Must ensure confidentiality of hotel guests, hotel financials and employee files This is a permanent year-round, full time salary position. Applicants must be flexible and available for evenings and weekends and must be available by phone for any hotel emergencies that arise.
