• Maintenance and repair: Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on machinery, vehicles, or building systems. This includes a wide range of tasks, from oil changes to electrical and plumbing repairs.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and identify the cause of malfunctions or problems with equipment and systems.
• Repairs: Perform repairs, which may involve replacing faulty parts, assembling new components, or fabricating parts as needed.
• System upkeep: Assist in setting up and maintaining systems such as ventilation, refrigeration, and alarms.
• Record keeping: Maintain detailed reports on maintenance activities, parts used, and the causes of malfunctions.
• Inventory management: Track and manage inventories of parts and supplies.
• Safety compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety and health standards. Required skills and qualifications
• Technical knowledge: Proficiency with common and specialized tools, and a strong understanding of the systems being worked on (e.g., mechanical, electrical, automotive).
• Problem-solving: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions from various formats, such as written, oral, or diagrammed.
