About the role

Join our exploration team as a Geological Field Technician , where every day is hands-on and outdoors. Working alongside experienced geologists, you’ll play a key role in preparing and processing diamond drill core, helping transform what’s pulled from the ground into the insights that drive our operations. If you enjoy practical work, being part of a supportive crew, and contributing to a values-driven mining company, this role offers the perfect balance of teamwork, responsibility, and learning opportunities.

Roster: 7/7, 12 hours (Dayshift only)

Location: Federation Mine – Nymagee NSW

Travel Options: DIDO

Key responsibilities

Collect, handle, and organise diamond drill core for logging and analysis

Process core by cleaning, marking depth lines, cutting, and bagging samples for laboratory testing

Conduct density measurements and maintain accurate sample records

Operate forklifts and other equipment to move core trays and pallets (where licensed)

Assist geologists and the exploration team with field tasks and daily operations

Complete basic data entry and maintain accurate documentation

Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a clean, safe, and organised work environment

Perform other duties as directed by the Senior Field Technician or Geologist

Qualifications and experience

Previous experience as a similar role

Hands-on experience in core yard and field exploration activities

Basic computer skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping

Team-oriented with a commitment to safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement

Physically fit with the ability to safely handle core trays and field equipment

Manual C Class driver’s licence (essential)

Forklift licence (not essential)
