We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Glass Specialist to join our construction and fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have experience in glass installation, blueprint reading, and various construction-related tasks. This role involves working on diverse projects that require precision, safety awareness, and proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and schematics. The Glass Specialist will contribute to high-quality installations and fabrication processes across residential, commercial, and remodeling projects.
Duties
Install glass panels, windows, mirrors, and custom glass fixtures with accuracy and attention to detail
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise installation
Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
Perform remodeling tasks including caulking, trim carpentry, door hanging, cabinet installation, and fixture setup
Assist with metal stud framing, drywall installation, and other framing activities as needed
Conduct heavy lifting of glass panels and related materials while adhering to safety protocols
Fabricate custom glass pieces in the shop or on-site as required for specific projects
Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety standards are met during operations
Collaborate with project managers and other trades to complete projects on time and within specifications
Experience
Construction estimating experience is a plus
Proven hands-on experience with glass installation in commercial or residential settings
Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and OSHA standards
Experience with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and fabrication processes
Knowledge of carpentry skills such as trim carpentry, frame carpentry, door hanging, cabinetry, remodeling, and construction painting
Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, metal stud framing equipment, and assembly techniques
Prior handyman experience or general construction background is highly desirable
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely for materials up to 50 pounds or more
Experience working on construction sites with a focus on quality craftsmanship and safety compliance
