Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading
Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading (GSET) offers a best in class comprehensive suite of trading strategies to help clients achieve their trading objectives and navigate a variety of market conditions leveraging historical analyses, quantitative models and real-time market informationfor single stock equities. These strategies are built on a highly distributed, scalable, low latency trading platform, which processes billions of transactions daily in the low microsecond range, with minimal jitter.
Our engineers are responsible for designing, building and maintaining this trading platform as well as the strategies running on the platform, in a collaborative environment. Some engineers focus on implementing the platform, its surrounding ecosystem and order management workflows, writing highly performant code and optimizing its interaction with the hardware and infrastructure it is executing on. Others work on building the trading models, signals and algorithmic logic which constitute the trading strategies. The software our engineers write is expected to be of a very high standard: it is client and market facing with real time SLAs, and can have high financial and regulatory impact. Our engineers adopt a data driven approach to decision making and participate in the full product lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and monitoring execution quality. As part of this effort, they collaborate with colleagues across the world including in New York, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, and Stockholm. The platform and strategies are deployed globally in multiple Americas, EMEA and APAC markets, and execute upwards of $50B notional daily.
Responsibilities
• Design, build, maintain and own high-performance, high-availability, high-capacity, yet nimble and adaptive platform for order management and exchange connectivity that processes high volume of transactions.
• Use data to guide decision-making, developing or enhancing tools as necessary to collect it.
• Communication with traders, sales, clients and compliance officers and cross platform teams about new feature requests, explanation of existing features etc.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a similar engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in C++ programming in Linux environment (preferably building equity trading systems).
• Strong Linux systems programming experience including memory management, concurrent programming infrastructure, and the networking stack.
• Thorough knowledge of object oriented programming, data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a highly collaborative team.
• Experience in python, shell scripting and SQL.
Added (preferred But Not Required) Qualifications
• Experience building APIs for complex systems’ interactions
• Experience building tools for back testing and visualization
• Familiarity with Global Equities Markets trading.
• Knowledge of performance tuning for low latency real-time operations
