The Role
The Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) is the Australian government agency responsible for the promotion and marketing of Australian education internationally.
Our client-focused Global Engagement Managers (GEMs) work with Austrade’s offshore network across 50+ markets and external partners to help Australian education businesses expand internationally and to promote Australia’s quality education and training offerings to international students, parents and agents. GEMs manage their key accounts by ensuring the services and advice their clients receive are professional, deliver value and help them achieve their international business objectives.
We are seeking an individual with a successful track record in international education. Suitable applicants would understand the value proposition represented by Australia’s education and training offering, the needs of clients in this sector when expanding internationally, have a sound understanding of the business and diversified delivery models, including transnational education and online.
Duties Include
Work with experts across Austrade and its partners to identify, target and assess clients in the education sector seeking to expand internationally;
Provide strategic advice and drive outcomes for clients by:
Creating an action plan with each client, outlining how we will support their expansion plans;
Ensuring the delivery of the plan with an integrated and consistent service;
Establishing and maintaining global networks and relationships;
Using partnerships to strengthen the team, maintaining and sharing sector knowledge with the team;
Anticipating and responding to client needs and challenges, escalating where required;
Maintaining detailed client records in our CRM system and other software as relevant;
Contributing to the improvement of Austrade’s digital services;
Monitoring client needs and encouraging improvements and innovation across all services;
Work with the Senior GEMs and other GEMs and colleagues on and offshore in the International Education network and Trade division to deliver on our trade strategy;
Represent Australia and Austrade in both corporate and government settings;
Understand the Government priorities and policy settings relating to the Education sector, providing relevant insights and advice
Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills;
Demonstrate client engagement, commercial acumen and consultative selling skills; and
Clearly describe Austrade’s service and value proposition to clients and partners.
