About the Role:
The Global Finance Trainee is an integral part of Latham’s Global Finance team and is responsible for providing support to the Global Finance Department while participating in a Global Finance Training Program. During this program, the trainee participates in general business skills training and department-specific training and spends four to six months in department teams before landing in a role within the department. This role will be located in our Global Services Office located in Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
The Trainee can either join the Financial Analysis track or the Financial Transactions and Control track.
For the Financial Analysis track, the trainee has opportunities to explore rotations involving data-driven decision making through quantitative analysis and financial reports. The trainee may be engaged in financial planning and budgeting, expense analysis, fee proposals, advanced analytics, financial modeling, and leveraging technology to provide insights into financial performance.
For the Financial Transactions and Control track, the trainee has opportunities to explore rotations supporting key financial transactions of the firm including financial and statutory reporting, revenue operations, accounts payable, asset management, procurement and vendor risk management, general ledger, retirement benefits and financial well-being, and treasury functions
The start date for the Global Finance Trainee program will be in July 2026. Trainees must have completed a bachelor's degree by the start date of the program. Please note that this in an on-site position in our Global Services Office, with potential for hybrid flexibility depending on rotation assignment. The salary for this position is $70,000/year. Note that due to the investment the firm makes in the training, integration, and development of Trainees, we ask that Trainees make a two-year minimum commitment to the firm.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Other key responsibilities include:
Participating in professional development skills training led by the Learning & Development and CareerNavigator teams
Shadowing members of the department to gain exposure and insight into day-to-day tasks and responsibilities
Providing administrative support relevant to the department; assists with all tasks supporting the staff
Providing a high level of customer service to internal and external clients
Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers
Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
We’d love to hear from you if you:
Exhibit well-developed, professional interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
Display experience using Microsoft Suite programs such as Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint (strong Excel skills required)
Possess the ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment with a customer-service focus
And have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or other relevant field by the start date of the program
Prior work experience or internships, preferably
Administrative experience and familiarity with professional services organizations, preferably
