About the Role:
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of TAB Surfaces' financial health. You will provide strategic direction and leadership to the finance team, ensuring efficient, compliant financial management practices, and reporting. You will report directly to the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the entire Banking, Accounts & Finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, advance tax calculations, foreign currency transactions, and risk management.
• Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account, Cash Flow Statement) in accordance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) for a private limited company and oversee the consolidation of accounts of group concerns as per Ind AS.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) processes, both domestic and international.
• Possess a good knowledge of Capital Markets and their role in financing business activities.
• Have a strong understanding of IPO (Initial Public Offering) related workings, including listing compliances.
• Be adept at handling and meeting with investors for pre-IPO placements and securing strategic investors when needed.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations, including the Reserve Bank of India Act (RBI Act), Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), Companies Act, Goods and Services Tax (GST), and Income Tax Act, and ensure timely payments of statutory dues as per PF (Provident Fund) Act, ESI (Employees' State Insurance) Act, and other related legislations. Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while adhering to regulations.
• Manage banking relationships, negotiate favorable terms with banks, including foreign currency loans, and ensure smooth functioning of all banking activities.
• Possess strong knowledge of project finance and actively participate in securing project funding, including exploring foreign currency loan options.
• Implement effective treasury management practices, including foreign exchange contracts (e.g., forwards, swaps) and hedging strategies to mitigate foreign exchange risks associated with foreign currency transactions and loans.
• Manage export financing/clearing and import financing/clearing activities, ensuring efficient documentation and compliance with customs regulations.
• Stay updated on government subsidies and schemes related to finance, including RoDTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products), duty drawback, and others. Explore opportunities for TAB Surfaces to benefit from them.
• Lead the finance team in credit rating improvement initiatives and collaborate effectively with internal and statutory auditors to ensure financial controls are functioning effectively.
• Collaborate closely with various departments (Sales, Operations, etc.), government departments, and banks and RBI to ensure smooth financial transactions and reporting.
• Develop and implement strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial data integrity.
• Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous learning.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations, including exploring opportunities for automating financial reporting processes.
Desired Skills & Experience:
• Chartered Accountant (CA) with a minimum of 15 years of experience in a similar role within a reputed organization.
• Proven track record of leading and managing finance teams in a fast-paced environment.
• In-depth knowledge of Indian accounting principles (Ind AS) and financial reporting practices for private limited companies.
• Strong understanding of RBI Act, FEMA, Companies Act, GST, Income Tax Act, PF Act, ESI Act, export/import regulations, foreign currency transactions, foreign currency loan regulations, and other relevant statutes.
• Proficient in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, advance tax calculations, and foreign currency management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to effectively interact and collaborate with all levels of staff.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and accounting software (experience with SAP and Tally is a plus).
• Experience in project finance, including utilizing foreign currency loans.
• Knowledge of government finance-related subsidies and schemes (e.g., RoDTEP, duty drawback).
• Understanding of credit rating processes.
• Strong data analytics skills to identify trends, optimize financial performance, and support strategic decision-making.
• Ability to work effectively with internal and statutory auditors.
