DB Migration – GoldenGate Developer

Experience: 6 to + Years
Location: Pune / Hybrid
Notice Period: Immediate to 15 Days
Budget: ₹12 LPA – ₹14.5 LPA

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Oracle GoldenGate Consultant to join our Database Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading end-to-end database migration projects using GoldenGate in both on-premises and cloud environments. This role demands strong expertise in Oracle, SQL Server, and GoldenGate, with a proven ability to manage complex, high-impact migration activities with minimal downtime.

Mandatory Skills (Must be demonstrated in project experience):

Oracle GoldenGate – advanced replication & migration setup
Oracle Database – administration, performance tuning, and migration
SQL Server – configuration, troubleshooting, and integration
SQL – scripting, data extraction, and transformation
Strong understanding of database internals and migration strategies
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and execute large-scale database migration projects using Oracle GoldenGate.
Configure GoldenGate for both homogeneous (Oracle to Oracle, SQL Server to SQL Server) and heterogeneous (Oracle to SQL Server, SQL Server to Oracle) database migrations.
Analyze source and target database architectures, identify migration challenges, and propose mitigation strategies.
Develop and implement data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure data integrity during migrations.
Troubleshoot GoldenGate configuration, replication lag, and transformation issues.
Optimize GoldenGate for high-volume, real-time data replication and batch migrations.
Design and execute cutover plans to ensure minimal downtime during switchover.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DBAs, developers, and application owners to ensure smooth transitions.
Automate migration steps using Shell, Python, or PowerShell to reduce manual intervention and improve consistency.
Perform post-migration validation, performance tuning, and fine-tuning of target databases.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of migration plans, GoldenGate configurations, and lessons learned.
Stay current with new GoldenGate features and industry practices to enhance the reliability and performance of migrations.
Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards.
Support cloud migration initiatives involving Oracle and SQL Server databases.
Mentor junior team members on GoldenGate configuration and best practices. Tech Stack Overview:
